Thinking about enlisting, but I just wanted to make sure a pronation of the foot isn't a disqualifying medical condition. I didn't see it on the list at ************* and a recruiter said he didn't think it was, but I've heard otherwise. Doctor said I don't have flat feet. So, can I join with a pronation of the foot?

Wow, I've been on a long, interesting trip. I also joined with flat feet, and "mild" pronation. Have you ever had any problems with your feet or seen a doctor or anything? I know if you've got orthotics you're DQ'd.

I'm telling you now, boot camp is going to give you trouble. Don't ask me how I know, just trust me on this one....

What MOS do you want?

I don't wear anything for it, but I have gotten shin splints (though I was wearing bad fitting shoes and hadn't stretched). Does that mean I can't join? I was interested in the combat correspondent MOS and scored in the 94th percentile on the ASVAB.

As long as you feel no pain while running or doing other physical activity I believe its alright. I have flat feet and I got through MEPS. I'm on the track team during the school year and I hike during the summer and my flat feet have never caused me pain. You should be fine.
