On the threads I see exceptional ability to post impressive (style & content) posts. This must be obtained through using the "attach" option available when preparing to send e-mail. I have all the equipment, (scanner) but am a little short on ability to use same. I get everything ready to hit the "send" button, but then get a message "need correct e-mail address", when trying to send to leatherneck. com. I realize this is a website, not an address. So I guess I am on the wrong road procedurally or need a Leatherneck e-mail address. If you don't mind helping an old Hog Farmer, any advise (any at all, including just go away) or assistance, appreciated. Kindest regards, gary hall, and SF.

I guess I can't send a post to Leatherneck using e-mail address or
I can't use the "attach" procedure when trying to post to Leatherneck Threads, after logging in. I see many Marines sabe how to do this.

To post content such as videos, images in your message, you need to use HTML code. Send me a PM, and i'll get you fixed up. It's confusing if your not used to it, i can try and explain it in a way that makes it simple.

When you want to post content using HTML, you must know the proper tags, and how to add the proper meat and potatoes to make it work.

IMAGES
When you want to post an image from another website, first thing you should do in your message is type the following tags without quotation marks.
"" You'll notice there are two seperate "tags". and . Once you find the image you want to post in your message, copy the URL address. For example...
http://www.usnavysealstore.com/images/products/small1/GRUNT_WITH_EAGLE_GLOBE_AND_ANCHOR_POSTER___11__X_1 4_.jpg

Now all you do is simply paste it in between the two tags.
""http://www.usnavysealstore.com/images/products/small1/GRUNT_WITH_EAGLE_GLOBE_AND_ANCHOR_POSTER___11__X_1 4_.jpg""

When you post it should look like this.

http://www.usnavysealstore.com/images/products/small1/GRUNT_WITH_EAGLE_GLOBE_AND_ANCHOR_POSTER___11__X_1 4_.jpg

When you want to post a video, most hosting websites will already have the HTML code for you to copy and print. (Try to copy and paste whenever possible.)

A whole lot of garbage basically, dictating what the size of the video will be displayed as, the way it is displayed, and where it is being streamed from. Not that important, because you can't stream to this website anyways.

If you want to post say a news story, and have it look more "impressive" you can use the quote code. ""

This Is A Sample Quote

If you want to provide a link, under text of another word, its a bit more complicated. Lets say that you want to link www.leatherneck.com (http://www.leatherneck.com), but have the link say "Semper Fi"... Here is how the tags would read.
""Semper Fi (http://http//www.leatherneck.com)

Then it would look like this... Semper Fi (http://www.leatherneck.com)

Here is an example of using all this to make a remarkable looking post of a news story.

Grand Theft Auto Steals Sales Record

Read Full Story Here! (http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/05/08/gta.sales/index.html)

It's official. Grand Theft Auto IV is a video game blockbuster, with gamers around the world buying up more than 6 million copies of the gritty, urban action title in its first week of sales. <!--startclickprintexclude-->
<!----><!--===========IMAGE============--><!--===========/IMAGE===========--><!--===========CAPTION==========-->Take-Two estimates GTA IV sold 3.6 million copies and generated $310 million in sales on its first day.<!--===========/CAPTION=========-->

<!--endclickprintexclude-->The dual figure of unit sales and revenues makes the launch the biggest ever for video games, and one of the biggest opening weeks in all of entertainment.

Sales of the game generated more than half a billion dollars, the publisher, Take-Two Interactive, said.
"Grand Theft Auto IV's first week performance represents the largest launch in the history of interactive entertainment, and we believe these retail sales levels surpass any movie or music launch to date," said Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick.

Analysts had long expected a solid opening for the game, which hit the stores on April 29, but none ventured sales of this magnitude.
Grand Theft Auto IV's sales surpassed those of last year's best-selling title from Microsoft, Halo 3. That title established a new, single-day sales record of $180 million dollars.

I hope this makes sense to you, or anybody for that matter. If you need further help let me know.

Some html code works here thus the music. VB code is what is used to post pictures. Gary what you need to do is either upload pictures here or get an account on photobucket and upload the pictures there. The site will walk you through it. Once uploaded you can reference the pictures to a post here with a VB code tag left bracket img right bracket like this [] with img in the middle, then provide the complete web address of the picture file the left bracket \ img right bracket ... [\] with img after the slash and inside the brackets. This is the closing tag. I can't spell it out exactly or you'll just see a red X instead of VB code instructions.

Do it a couple times and you'll have it licked.
