Good morning. I have a question that I am not sure anyone can answer, but hopfully can direct me to the right resources. I recently graduated and joined as a Reservist. Joined the reserves for my wife, but she left me at boot so now I am trying to switch to active.
I'm also trying to change my MOS when I start the new contract, I'm currenlty signed as 0311 (Was the only MOS opened as the Reserve unit is a LAV Reconn Bn). I asked my recruiter to see if he can help me out and was told I will have to go through ITB, report into my Reserve Unit then request a switch to active.
My question is, would I be able to change my contract before SOI and was misinformed by my recruiter? I really do not want to get stuck at the reserve base for an extended period of time before I can switch to Active. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
