Good morning Marines,

A young lady called the detachment a couple of weeks ago looking for Marines, her father died April 1st and she was planning his funeral. She wanted Marines to be there. Due to complications with the health of her mother details of the service just arrived today. Her father landed on Okinawa in 1945 45 days later he was evacuated due to gun shot wounds. She is proud of his service and would like to have as many Marines there as possible. If you are able to attend and say good bye to one of our own please join Gunny Dixon and I Saturday May 3rd, 2008 at 1100 at

Woodlawn Church

Sgt, you still have time. Get the family's permission, then contact the PGR. They will eagerly assist ,with honor, and a flag line for this Marine. We've done it on shorter notice than this.

Please give the family my heart felt thanks for their sacrifice and a crisp hand salute to the Marine. Unfortunately, we are losing our WW II Vets at an alarming rate.
