I've just returned from UK after many hours of sampling the long lost taste of my favourite brew; fish and chips with mushy peas; trampling the pebbles of the south coast seashore and telling 'dits' with memories long forgotten.
My most humbling experience though was that of our new National Arboretum which is a memorial to our lost Service personnel. I found it quite weird, in a way, to see ex squaddies names enscribed, chaps I didn't know too well but felt as though I did, guys I'd heard about in 'dits' etc. About time we had somewhere where we could share grief that only we can understand.
If interested check out this site: http://www.nationalmemorialarboretum.org/
I have some photo's which I'll try and put on soon.
Yours Aye
