Military role models wanted.
So says charter boat captain John "Giddyup" Bunch of Pine Island, who is working with TV’s Military Channel and Pentagon Channel on a documentary.
He is helping them find a U.S. serviceman or servicewoman returning from Iraq or Afghanistan on combat leave or, in the case of a U.S. Marine, returning from his/her seven-month tour of duty.
He says the channels want to film their joint venture in the Naples area and feature a local military member.
Bunch, a U.S. Marines veteran and founder of Operation Open Arms, says the selected service person will enjoy free lodging, dining, fishing, golf, sailing and even dental care if needed. OpenArms (www.operationopenarms.com) is a nonprofit whose sole mission is doing good deeds for U.S. military members when they come home.
If you know of "a real American hero" returning to Collier, Lee or Charlotte counties in the next few days, contact Bunch by phone at 239-822-8888, or e-mail him at captgiddyup@earthlink.net
