You guys understand that you do not get to pick lead or follow series...you also will not know what platoon you are in let alone your Drill Instructors. Let me repeat that as DRILL INSTRUCTORS...NOT DI'S. If you are lucky and they don't change it on you 3-4 times before summer like they did with me, you may be able to decipher what Co. you will have the luxury to go to. If you are from Ohio, I highly doubt you will be in lead series...You have one of the longest travel times to PI and they take you by time you get there and put you in platoons pretty much. Don't get your hopes up that you know everything before hand

Very good. I understand that. You will know your Co. and your Bn. before you leave for bootcamp. However there are 3 platoons in each of lead and follow side for each Co. Therefore you could get stuck in one of 6 platoons. I have never heard of anyone having a specific platoon and being told whether they were lead or follow series before. Therefore, I am making the assumption that you are assuming.

I've already been showed the paper that my ship date and my graduation date is on and that i will be in 1056 lead series as well as to others i DEP'd in with.

Before I shipped my recruiter showed that to me as well...

That platoon is probly just the first platoon for lead series in your Co. So there should be a 1056 1057 1058 1060 1061 1062.

I was told by my recruiter I was going to be 2024, I ended up in 2026.

You get put in platoons as you arrive. Usually everyone on your bus will be in your platoon.

Well my recruiter will be here in a little over an hour to come take me to the hotel in Cleveland for the night. Tomorrow morning will start my trip to earn that title. It's kind of surreal to even think I will be standing on those footprints in Parris Island. Thank you goes out to all of the Marines on this site for all of the information. For everyone that is going to Parris Island tommorrow maybe I'll see you there. To everyone that is going to San Diego good luck with your venture too. Hopefully I'll be back here in 3 months with that title.
