Might be too late. But usually they have drill instructors there, and you get a chance to get smoked a lil bit, ask questions, eat MREs and some other random bootcampish stuff. Not a bad experience. I helped run once once.

Well after the agonizing time it took from the time I got up until when I was supposed to leave (as if that wasnt enough) I wait for an additional 35 minutes for word from my recruiter. As i'm waiting by the door like a good POOLee should, I decide to call him, and only to find out that we for some reason are NOT going. I am in shock with happieness and also dissapointed because I wont be able to experience it first hand.

Well, I guess my time will come. I guess i can be like the other 95% of Recruits who stand on those Yellow Footprints without ever seeing the furious and raging body of a Drill Instructor!

Even though i'm not going, I am very motivated. I am motivated because I realize my dream of joining the Marine Corps isnt just a dream anymore but a work-in progress to become one of the best!

I would also like to thank each and every one of you for your time for reading this post.

No Sir, the site is correct. I am currently a "Marine Friend". I have started talking to a recruiter and PT'ing with The POOLee's and DEPpers but I have signed no paperwork or visited MEPS yet, I thought that qualified me only as a "Marine Friend" am I wrong?

I'm trying to get into the DEP as soon as physicaly possible. I started talking to a recruiter last month and I weighed in at 296lbs and was running a 10:47 mile. Now about a month later i'm at a 8:51 mile time and i Can do three pull ups but only underhand. and im around 278lbs. I'm 6'4 so I need to drop to 256lbs before I can DEP in. It is not a impossible Task, although I'm trying very hard!

Sincerley,
One Very Motivated "Marine Friend":p
