Ok, just to let you know i did my reseach but couldn't find an answer to it(maybe i missed it while looking for it) and i'm not trying to get ahead of myself because i know i have to graduate Boot Camp first, my question is while on your 10 days leave, would it be proper to wear your Service Alphas when attending church? Also while on your 10 days leave would you wear your Service Charlies when going to visit friends, families, visiting your old school, or would you wear civilian clothes?

As far as I am concerned, once you have earned the title and are home on leave you can wear anything you want as long as you wear it correctly. Alphas, Bravos, Charlies, Deltas, whatever it is you better be squared away and wearing that uniform according to the regs.
I can't tell you what the current regs say probably someone else can, but if I was going to my old high school, and since I graduated with Dress Blues I would wear them. For church the Alphas are probably more appropriate. Just visiting friends, loosen up but wear a belt!:)
Whatever you do, someone is always watching so you better be squared away in that uniform.

The Commandant Of the Marine Corps has extended the privelage to Marines that they may wear appropriate civilian attire while on leave/liberty. However, if you desire to wear your service uniform while on leave/liberty, you are allowed to do so. I'm sure a lot of these old war dogs here could tell you when it wasn't like that!

I can only speak for myself, but wear your uniforms (correctly of course). Wear them when you go to Wal-Mutt!! Hell, wear them in the head. I for one, really enjoy seeing a young, eager Marine looking all spiffy and spit shined. It gives this old man a great deal of pleasure to say "Semper Fi, Brother!" I even get that "straighter back" syndrome when I see the folks at the local RSS. Just be prepared to get an ass chewing if you do anything that reflects baddly on my Marine Corps!!:flag:
Now, go earn the TITLE and make us proud.

&*yes, i intend on always wearing my uniform correctly when i earn that Title, and yes Sgt, i will definately work my *** off to earn that Title and make you Marines proud!
You don't have to wear your uniforms after being secured for the day, on leave, liberty, etc. Just wear proper civvies.
You are good in every uniform except for Dress Blue Alpha's. Those are only for special ceremonies, i.e weddings, Marine Corps Ball's ect.

In our day, there was a class on leave/liberty uniform and dress regulations in boot camp. The constants are always no cammies and no dress blue alphas.
You should wear the blue bravos or service alphas to church. I would wear blue deltas all other times.
Yea, I love Deltas. If I had a set I'd wear them all the time...well not really, but I'd wear them more than just as the uniform of the day.

Had a lad that had a little tiff with his wife and ended up spending a week sleeping in the barracks. He said he wanted to try and make up to her and get things back on track. I said wear something nice and take her out to dinner then tell her how you feel. He said I don't have anything nice to put on. I said the hell you don't sheesh look in your wall locker. ;) He proudly took her out wearing charlies and all was well in the world once again.

EdMy wife works at a Wal Mart. When a Marine walks in you hear "code red/white/blue" all the women come out to check it out.;)

And I don't blame them. It's amazing how much better you all look when you put on a uniform.

Dont Wear Service Alphas On Leave
Hey, Pvt. Cook, why are you dragging up all these old uniform posts? Check out the date of the threads before you hit that reply button. All these threads you've been replying to are MONTHS old.
And just so YOU know, there is nothing wrong with wearing Service As to church.
2 days out of boot camp I see, congratulations, and welcome to the world!

Many Marines wear their Alphas to church, and it is more appropriate to do so in my opinion. I wouldn't wear them just anywhere but I was asked to to go to dinner with my Family on my grad night
