I am currently enrolled in my schools NJROTC program. I was encouraged by my SNSI (Senior Naval Science Instructor) who is a retired Major in the Marine Corps, to become an officer. I don't have the best grades but I am intelligent, a quick learner and I have determination. I have since enlisted in the Marine Corps but, I would like to be an officer, even if its at the end of my career. I am planning to stay in the Marine Corps for 20 years or more. I dont want to be a 'Butter Bar" Lieutenant. I want to be seen as an officer who has had enlisted experience, Are the chances slim to none or is there a good possibility that I could become an officer through BOOST or PLC or other programs?

SSGT, I have done so and I'm not sure if its my laptop or if the threads are locked because I was not able to open or read any of them.

Must be your comp. I typed in BOOST and came up with 20 pages of threads. I will say though that I typed in PLC and got nothing.

No worries, just keep checking. Maybe close your web browser and reopen or it could be the linkage between your comp and this database. Also, talk to an Officer or Officer selection office, they may be able to give some more info.

Well I knew it was one or the other that you could type in....try BOOST. Like SSGT OB MSG said. You could also try PM'ing all these LT's whom are Mustangs.

- and preface those remarks with -

don't have the best grades
- and I wrote -

Why do you NOT have good grades, Miss Stretch, if you have what it takes?

You wanna be a Occifer?

Hmmm, better work on those grades.

He's saying that you are just fine as long as you keep yourself motivated and do your job as an Officer. You don't have to have perfect grades, some of the best Officers had humble beginnings.

Well Corporal. I wasnt the best student my freshman and Sopmore years of high school and doing well my junior and senior has helped my GPA a little but not much, Corporal. I didnt appreciate my education then as much as I do now and well as the saying says, "You reap what you sew", Corporal.

Reply to SSGT:
Yes SSGT. I understand that now.
