I posted this in the Marines forum, but I want to post this here for the poolees as well.

We were all just told that our deployment date was pushed up and we're deploying to Afghanistan this weekend,
I can't post the exact day or time but it's this weekend and a hell of a lot sooner than expected.

DUH!..... I wonder why that is? Just because they are passing out certificates and tell you that its so...doesn't mean the Cold War is over.

They say there are terrorist cells lying dormant in the United States....and they have good intel....they might have old Susie Rotten Crotch on the payroll....you never know.

As Sgt. Zulu said the PAO will make the announcement. Here at CLNC units are deploying all the time.....but there is NO time line and no location from where they are leaving in the news until after they are gone or until they return safely. I wonder why that is?

Even if you did find out your schedule...you couldn't tell anybody...until a few days before you leave.Best to keep your mouth shut...and regardless of the new breed...OPSEC around this Marine base is still alive and well.:evilgrin:
