Marines ID corporal found dead in Miramar barracks

A Marine who was found dead Wednesday in his barracks room at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station has been identified as Lance Cpl. Derek R. Refsland.
Refsland, 21, was a native of Troy, Montana. He served with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing on the base.
A fellow Marine found a lifeless Refsland in the room shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday. Firefighters and paramedics declared him dead about 2 a.m.
The Marine Corps has not cited a cause of death, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating the incident.
