Just introducing myself

Hi everyone

My name is Ryan Kidd. I just signed into the DEP and should be scheduled to leave sometime in August. I am from Fort Collins Colorado and am 19 about to turn 20. This forum seems to be a great place to meet other recruits and learn more about the Marines, so I will definitely utilize it. I'm definitley excited about the prospect of becoming a part of the greatest military force on the planet.

I also ship out in August to MCRDPI. But you won't be shipped straight to Camp Pendleton, I take it you're going to MCRDSD. Goodluck though.

Well nice to meet you Lupisella. When are you shipping in August? I think or hope I will be going sometime in the middle of August (the 11th or 18th). How long have you been in the DEP? I just signed, tested, and took my physical on Friday and Saturday so I dont know too much with whats involved in the DEP.

Nice to meet you also. I'm shipping out for boot August 11th. I just went to took my test and got my physical and joined the DEP last week, tuesday through wednesday. About the DEP, I'm really new too, but all i've been doing is PTing at my local recruiting station with some other kids.

Well its good to meet someone else who is just as new. Yeah thats what we are going to be doing as well. I think we meet every Tuesday and Thursday night for PT. I am also working out alot on the side just to make sure I am fully prepared when I do go. So are any of the other recruits shipping out with you? I think two others will hopefully be going with me. I think it would be good to have someone else I know at Boot Camp.

yeah i know lol...this six months of waiting is going to kill me. I honestly spend every waking moment of my free time either working out or researching something about the Marines. I dont know how I will last another six months lol. I want August to be here!

I wish I knew. I don't know why I'm making this such a huge deal picking an MOS when I just want to be a Marine. I'm leaning towards infrantry though.

Welcome. I leave in June so you might see me. I'll be the recruit with slightly longer hair than yours. If you want Infantry then go for it. Soon to, it seems to fill up quickly. Again welcome. If you have any questions about DEP just ask. It's different in different regions but I've been in DEP in Tucson, Az for 6 months now.

waiting 6 months is torture? hah. Try enlisting on June 2nd 07 and shipping June 2nd 08 .A full year. That wait sucks! :) just givin ya a hard time. Good luck brother.

Im not sure yet what my MOS is gonna be. Im also leaning towards infantry, I just dont know what exactly what in infantry I wanna do...maybe we will meet up on the battle field Lupisella :evilgrin:
