Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) February 25, 2008 -- RecruitMilitary, the nation's leading military-to-civilian recruiting firm, has launched a Web site, www.BerkeleyMarines.com, to support a Marine recruiting center in Berkeley, California. The Berkeley City Council declared on January 29 that the recruiters at the center were "uninvited and unwanted intruders." RecruitMilitary has launched the site to generate awareness of the council's behavior and to provide a forum for citizens who support the center and its staff.

"I was disappointed with the council's vote that told the United States Marine Corps that one of its recruiting stations was 'not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do as uninvited and unwelcome intruders.'" said Drew Myers, President of RecruitMilitary and a former Marine Captain. "Any Marine will tell you that he or she supports freedom of speech - Marines fight for it, in fact - but the city council spoke irresponsibly."

"Bowing to public outcry, the council modified its declaration on February 13, but refused to apologize for its actions," said Myers. "We believe that an apology is already long overdue."

Visitors to www.BerkeleyMarines.com can access and post updates on council actions and the status of the recruiting station. They can also share their opinions with others - including members of the Berkeley City Council, whose government mailing addresses are given on the site.
