Is there any marines out there that truely likes this system. I have gotten to the point that I hate this system. Reports are not so easy to fix anymore. We keep trying to fix our LM2 and it keep duplicating the remarks. Its not as easy to 9/C the same type ero's anymore. This program has become a real pain. PC Mimms 1.0 was the simply version. Easier to make the corrections need to keep higher off you for your reports.

Another question who out there likes being under NMCI. Having to wait for them to come to fix your computer for a week before it is fixed? I know our BN. is very small but we need our computers and it takes forever to get our computers fixed. We was sharing one computer between 5 to 7 marines in the S4 shop. Which was our Ammo Chief, Ammo Clerk, Embark Chief, Mimms Chief, Mimms Clerks x 2, Company Gunny. So dealing with NMCI has been a pain 2.

Think about how it worked BEFORE computers!!! I remember that MIMMS crap and pubs and Embarkation! I don't miss it at all!

I've worked with the program and don't like it one bit. It ticks me off everyday and puts me in a bad mood. Not one of my brothers like the program and all agreed to use our Pubs laptops for PCMIMMS 1.0. I guess I like to keep it old school.

Hell I remember a time when SOP's and orders needed to be corrected or created, you sat down with the white wall paper or liquid hell, a selectric and a hammer. On ship it was a ticker tape machine and every error forced you to redo the entire thing or if the tape broke, off you went again with a new one. I was one of the first PC Specialists in the Corps, back before Windows and hard drives.

I haven't used the program since 2004 so I dont know what has changed, But I do think that the whole program needed to be re-done... things like interfacing it with the net so you dont have to hand carry or email you courior's everyday. And something to make pulling the reports easier as well, Those are the only problems that really stick out to me right now....

Ah, I remember PC MIMMS. I worked at MCLB Albany GA in the network security office in charge of keeping it up. Luckily, I never had to actually use it...just made sure it was up-to-date on security...

Wasn't ATLASS supposed to replace it at one time???

As far as I know, ATLASS II+ was supposed to replace MIMMS, but I don't know what the current situation is. I've been out for almost 2 years now and never utilized the system so I didn't keep up with it. My old SNCOIC is now the information assurance manager in Albany...he may have some inside knowledge...but who knows.

Atlass II got dumped, and replaced by PCMIMMS 1.0. There was an issue with deploying the system to the field, and many bugs that maintenance personnel werent aware of. PCMIMMS 2 is a cheap shot at getting the system to be compatible with newer windows versions, along with a "face left". Thankfully I got out in time to avoid that issue. For all of you who thought the paper work sucked, your lucky you never had to use the previous mimms system, that used multiple diskettes (the big floppies) in a specially configured PC.

BigAl...that's not good. If I'm going to be sandwiched between 2 people, I'd like to know who they are first!

Hmmm make sure no one else is updating you LM2's as well cuz then your remarks will duplicate. I am having a real easy time using this program... You need any assistance just ask.
