:( Well at the Poolee function today the tricked everyone and we ended up doing the IST. Mine wasn't good wasn't bad ether didn't have time to stretch and all congested but still ran a 11:35 1.5 mile not good I usaully run better. Did 10 pullups again not good i usaully do better but the crunches I did good, 93 in 2 min i actually got 70 done by a minute twenty but those last 23 kicked my arse. Pretty ****ed with myself for doing so crappy but it just proved to me I need to work a bit harder and I will get up there. Then after all that we played FOOTBALL then Basketball and the Soccer and the POOLEES Finally beat the Recruiters/Marines ----------------------------133 days left until i ship out!!

Good job Tiny! You've got a lot of time to improve on that PFT too, so where you are now is good as long as you keep progressing.
I did my last PFT before shipping out on the 19th and I was glad to see that I got to where I felt I needed to be. 16:39, 17, 91. Oh man, less than nine days!!!

16:19? Wow, pretty quick, you in cross country?

ZaCo
02-10-08, 09:06 PM
Haha, you guys give me too much credit, 16:39. But yeah, I ran cross-country and track throughout high school and then ran varsity in college for two years. Now I just run marathons, so the running thing has never bothered me. I've had to work on strength.
Tiny, if you can throw down anything in the 18:00's for the run you are ahead of the majority at boot camp. That is a good goal for anyone and I hope you can acheive that.
Jon, you shipping out now on the 19th?

Hey Motto Poolee, I was checking out your profile, I guess you and Gunnery Sergeant Hathcock are drinking buddies huh? Haha, just messing with you kid, but stick that rank in there, he most certainly earned it. (Great choice for a Marine role model too!!!)

ZaCO, yeah I'm leaving the 19th now, some paperwork didn't go through :\ But it is all good, more time with the family :)

I ran track/x-country also, best time I believe was like 17:42, not GREAT, but that was my best effort and all my buddies in x-country knew it so I earned there respect, thus making me happy...

You're good to go Motto, was corrected on a mistake, acknowledged it without complaint, fixed it, and won't make it again, you'll do good kid!!

ZaCo

17:42 is a very respectable time. That is very true though, I could of cared less on a person's time. If I could tell they were giving their best and working for every second, then they earned my admiration and respect.
Good luck on 19th. Looks like you don't have too far to go, haha. Maybe we'll run into each other.

We don't do the PFT at functions we do the IST. So far my best is 9 minutes flat on the 1 1/2 mile run 15 pullups, 130 crunches in 2 minutes. Yesterday I did the IST on with a flak jacket, which is nothing to you Marines, but to the poolees my time with that was 9:58.

Just keep workin on it. My first IST back in September was 11:48 1.5 mile, 6 pullups, 99 sittups.

Now I'm up to 20:09 3 mile, 14 Pullups, 135 sittups. The more you work on it, the better the results will be.

1.5 mile run: 11:35
cunches: 137 in 2 minutes
pull-ups: 17

I ship out in August, if I keep it up I might make the 300 PFT.

gnarkill04

1.5 mile run: 13:30
Pull ups: 5
Crunches: 100

I just started track today so that run time is BOUND to shoot up. And I'm pretty disappointed in the pull-ups. I still have time before I turn 18 to enlist though.
