Several Yuma units are among those scheduled to head back to Iraq this year, officials at Camp Pendleton, Calif., announced recently.

Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13, Marine Attack Squadron 311 and Marine Air Control Squadron 1 are among the many units slated to deploy. VMA-311 is a Harrier squadron and the other squadrons are support units.

The three Marine Corps Air Station Yuma squadrons will fall under I Marine Expeditionary Force, which will relieve II Marine Expeditionary Force based in Camp Lejeune, N.C., taking over in Anbar province, Iraq.

The majority of units will deploy to Iraq in two separate seven-month rotations, with the first rotation entering Iraq this month.

VMA-311 is slated to deploy at the end of March, accompanied by a small detachment of Marines from MALS-13. A detachment from MACS-1 is scheduled to deploy in August.
