I really need some advice in this matter... I've been a reservist for 2.5 years, and I'm looking to augment to active duty. I'm an 1142 (Generator mechanic) and I have some years until my contract is up. I told my command and they said I needed a prior service recruiter to submit a package. The problem is that the recruiters I've talked to don't seem to have a clear answer for me as to what my next step is. I know this is possible cause I've seen it done...I wasn't a Marine at the time so I don't know the details. I would really appreciate any feedback, if there is someone who has dealt with this before that can shine some light on it would be a huge help for me.

Do you have access to a carreer planner ? I dont see why it would be difficult to go from reserve to active. Good luck

Your prior service recruiter should know what paperwork to submit. If he or she doesn't then talk to their SNCOIC. I understand that a lot of Marines are having trouble dealing with PSR's.
