SOI question

Can anyone tell me how long SOI is? Are both training venues the same length?

I don't know whether you meant SOI/ITB or SOI/MCT, but you can navigate around that page and find both. SOI/MCT is shorter, I believe 4 weeks, to SOI/ITB's 8 weeks, hope that helps.

Thanks for your quick reply...I found the page of the school itself, but couldn't find any length. I think I am on information overload trying to take it all in. The more info I can get my hands on, the better I feel about sending my boys off.

It is typically 8wks but that also depends if they are picked up right away. Sometimes they expeirence such an increase in arrivals that they are all put in holding until they have enough to pick-up a platoon and what the size of the platoon will be. When I went I was in holding for two weeks before a Company pick me up because there were so many at one time. You will here from your Marine soon. They do get to have liberty, weekends off, if they are put in hold. Unless they changed anything, I hope this help.

Yes, thank you all. My boys are both looking forward to going and getting it done. They can't wait to call themselves a Marine.

Last night the Recruiter was telling them that they might wait a month with him, to help at the Recruiter office after Recruit training. They might be delayed by that as well.
