I figure I might not be the only one who is wondering. So I figured to ask the question here.

I am leaving for recruit training on January 18th. We usually get our w-2 with our first check of the year, but with a new payroll person. He said he isn't sure when we will get them.

So my question is. If I don't have time to get my taxes done before I leave. What do I do? Graduation is scedualed for April 25th. So I am SOL there.

Can you have someone do it for you?

I thought about that quickly, and thought it wouldn't work if something needed to be signed.

Your company has until the 30th of January to give you the W-2 or they are in violation of the law. PM ivalis on this site he is an IRS man.....but I would think you can get the form to file an extension since the IRS probally owes you. Good luck!

I know they have a deadline for my w-2. However. Like I said. I am leaving January 18th for boot camp.

I was unaware that someone could file for an extension. I might take a trip to H&R Block, and ask them. If that fails, Ill PM ivalis.

Thank You.
