Former marine chef still sending snacks overseas

Burton, Michigan - Former marine Roland Hansen said he feels like he's still on mess duty.
The Michigan resident makes homemade treats to send to dozens of U.S. marines serving in the Middle East.
His recipes include crunchy pickles, beef jerky and hot sauces.
The 51-year-old said some of his goodies are particularly popular because they can be eaten by marines on the run.
Hansen cooks up the treats in the kitchen of his Burton, Michigan home.
He told the Flint Journal that if gets too tired of cooking, he just thinks of how much the taste of home means to the marines in the war zone.
