View Full Version : Marine Security Guard?
Hello. I've wanted to join the Marines for a very long time now, and as the date of enlistment comes closer, I've considered many MOS's. One of my main interests would be Marine Security Guard, or "Embassy Security." Has anyone here done this job? What did you think about it? Also would it be possible to choose an embassy you are assigned too? I speak fluent Polish ( to a native level) and very good Russian, so would they preferably assign me to those respective embassies? Thank you very much for the help.
Sincerely, Josh Gasienica.

Hussar,
It used to be that the first embassy duty was assigned to you ( 18 month tours, I think ) then the second was more of a choice. However, as always, the needs of the Marine Corps always prevail.
Ensure that your recruiter is aware of your desire and that your service records include your fluency, and the likelyhood of one of those destinations is greater.
Good luck to you.

Sent you a pm with a blog link for a female Marine on MSG currently.
With a little looking she put an entry about fact versus fiction on MSG duty.
Caution...your mileage may vary.

Corporal LeonardLawrence,
Thanks for clarifying, but "always right" does not usually follow my name.....four lettered words happen more often.

Interesting Moto-recruiting video on MSG.
The only part that did not seem like a good time was getting called away at dinner for some "ops". Outback Steakhouse or not...I am getting a doggie bag!
