They have air conditioning at Parris Island nowadays.
Below is 81 mortars platoon, Weapons 2-9 at Camp Bishagawa on Okinawa in 1958. All of us were stuffed into that quonset hut.

The whole series looks great! Alas, the fine art of spit polishing is going away.

Yeah, and the NCO area was seperated by a hanging curtain with Cpl/Sgt chevrons sewed on it. Yep, the old days.
