I remember hearing that you need to wear Bravo's, ribbons and badges, not medals. Anybody else heard that? I haven't worn mine since 1998, but 10 years later this coming November, I will don mine again for the Marine Corps ball here in Clarksville, Tennessee. I have been told to wear them as if you are still in, shipshape.

With deciphering these regulations I would think that one can wear the uniform as long as you are still within military guidelines and appearance. We had a post a few weeks ago from someone that new a former Marine that was getting married and he wanted to wear his blues.....the only problem being his fiancé wanted him to keep his goatee! DUH!

A SSGT on board here had his son graduate from PI MCRD a few months back...he was still within standards and guidelines of appearance and weight, and got a regulation haircut and was good to go.

I would say go for it! As a Marine you earned the title to death and beyond!

You can wear your Alphas or Blues with Medals to the ball. No problem. Yes, have a good haircut or you will be called out.

That's good to go. Medals not ribbons. How about my shooting badge?

You can wear EVERYthing you rated/earned as a Marine.

In one of the older regs, (which I don't have handy) the only requirement was that you wear the 'Honorable Discharge Button' over the right...

Hey thanks for the heads-up. I think a uniform forum would be in order.
