I am in my sophomore year in college. I just recently completed my MEPS and am finalizing my application to the Aviation side of OCS. The question came up on MEPS about every using marijuana? Much of me wanted to deny it but I felt honesty was the best policy and so I answered yes. Obviously this is looked down upon and won't help me, but I am wondering just how bad it will hurt me? I have smoked one time and it was due to finding myself in a very bad situation when I was 15 years old. I have a perfectly clean record otherwise. The one time I wasn't even busted for, I just admitted it to the Doc out of pure honesty.

Will it still be possible for me to be accepted and someday become a pilot? I read on here that it won't keep one from being accepted but it can limit the pool of jobs for the candidate.

Fill out your profile while you're on this website...and you made the right choice to be honest...thats what being a Marine is all about, taking responsibility for your own actions and accepting the consequences...good or bad.

Good to go on your honesty!

Better than not saying anything and if you ever become a Marine and you need a security clearance and they start snooping and pooping and ask and find out.

Things in life have a way of catching up to you!

Oh ossifer I'm about 1/2 drunk...but I only had one beer:beer:
