I reaceived this from a friend of mine, whose son is attached to the unit.
Wanted to let you all know I found out last night that Fox News reporter, Rick Leventhal, is now "embedded" with the 1st Marines, 2/23 (Daniel's unit). Til now, Leventhal had been with a Marine armored unit but as they were not going into Baghdad, he moved to 2/23. I had the very eerie experience late last night of hearing Leventhal's report (no film) whilst walking with the 2/23 through the then empty streets of Baghdad hoping to "draw fire." Creepy for Moms at home! This morning, Fox showed film of Leventhal interviewing some of the guys from Echo Company (Daniel at various times has been with Headquarters Co., Fox and Golf Cos.) so if we all keep our eyes peeled, perhaps we'll see him with Rick Leventhal.
They said they chose his unit as they are the only reserve unit in Baghdad and thought that made for an interesting angle.
