Commercial Question

Yea I was watching T.V. just now and a army commercial came on and of course me and my dad laugh at how stupid they can be and make jokes. But you don't see alot of Marine commercials on t.v. or is it just me? I asked my dad about it (former Marine) and he said because if the Marines really had a problem getting men and women to join then they would be out paying alot of money to advertise like the army does. But the Marines put there money to what they need most like weopons and parts to fix the humveys and aircrafts, stuff like that. Now is this true or just more of are army jokes we enjoy sharing so much lol.

I think The Marines in general do a fair share of advertising but what percentage verus the Army or the other branches is something for some marketing guy to figure out. I personally see a lot of Marine Corps advertising on ESPN, CNN, and most major sporting events, and I think that's part of their target audience? I don't supposed you see many Marine Corps commercials on the Food Network or during Oprah? Depends on what you watch, I guess, (not saying that's what you watch.) :)

Hey now there's nothing wrong with a little Oprah or Dr. Phil here and there lol. But I guess it's just the timeing that I'm watching I guess. Just seems to be more of the army than the Marines. But guess its just me.

I was just talking to my dad last night about how there aren't many Marines commercials. It seems like this is less true because the Marines just started their big new advertising thing "We don't accept applications, only committments". However, back in the day my recruiter told me "Do you ever wonder why you never see Marine commercials? Well, have you ever seen a commercial for a Lamborghini? If it's the best thing on the market, people know they want it. You don't have to sell it to them."

Spike TV has plenty of Marine Corps commercials! I don't know about Dr Phil.

Don't know if it's just me...but everytime I see a Marine commercial it motivates the hell out of me. Makes me proud to know that what I have achieved is still a dream for future Marines to come.

I told myself "Well I guess I'm gunna have to climb that wall to be a Marine." So I went out side and started climbing the biggest tree in our yard and when my mom came out and found me she started yelling and told her, "Mom if want to be a Marine I have to practice climbing, I dont want to fall otherwise I'll die!!" lol Good Times:marine:

I remember watching the Marine commercials as a kid too. They always caught my attention. When I actually joined I couldn't believe that I was going to be part of it. The commercials really embraced the eliteness, professionalism, and esprit de Corps.
