Marine to be sentenced in DUI manslaughter case
By Nic Corbett

A former Marine will be sentenced today in Leon County Circuit Court on a charge of DUI manslaughter in the death of a fellow Marine.

Bradley J. Finley, 23, a former military police officer in the Marine Corps was found guilty of manslaughter by driving under the influence in the death of M.P. Lance Corporal Juan Almazan.

Finley, Almazan and another Marine drove down to Tallahassee from the Marines Base Logistic Camp in Albany on Dec. 2, 2005, to visit some local bars.

On the way back to the base early the next morning, Finley went off the road and overcorrected, losing control of the car and crashing into trees on Highway 90, according to the State Attorney's Office. While all three Marines were using seat belts, Almazan was killed.

Almazan's younger sister joined the Marine Corps shortly after his death to take his place in serving the country.
