Raymond Hall
MANISTIQUE — Raymond Hall, 80, of 440 Delta Avenue, Manistique, died Dec. 7, 2007, at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.
He was born Aug. 12, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Franklin and Florence (Naveau) Hall and attended school there.
During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater. Following discharge he re-enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served for two additional years.
On Nov. 17, 1956, he married the former Helen R. Rieckhoff at the First United Methodist Church in Manistique. They lived and worked in Chicago, Ill., for many years. While living in Chicago, Raymond was employed at a tool and die company and later as a truck driver for a linen supply company. They moved to Manistique in 1990.
Ray was a former member of the Manistique Moose Lodge and the Manistique Eagles Club. He enjoyed embroidery and cross stitch.
Ray is survived by his wife, Helen Hall of Manistique; son, Douglas (Carol) Hall of Manistique; sisters, Agnes Lewandoski, Thelma (Keith) Werner and Violet (Bill) Kennedy, all of Toledo, Ohio; along with nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Robert; and his sisters, Lucille and Mary.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique.
A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Don Bedwell officiating. A luncheon will follow at the First United Methodist Church.
