I luv Jazz, so I was doing a search on You Tube under Wynton Marsalis and I found this GEM....

Wynton also did the music for the recent Ken Burns viewing of 'The War'.

I was really digging the music. The scenes and sounds of the Peleliu battle was so haunting and chilling. The music really set the stage.

What a great production. The Marsalis message here is on point too.

Thats awesome. Ive played trumpet for 7 years and I have always looked up to him as a musician. Its good to know that he has respect and love for the Marine Corps. It gives me a new level of respect for him.

Thanks for posting.

As it happens, I'm currently taking a class in "History of American Jazz Music", and Wynton has narrated some of the film strips we've seen in class.

The thing about Wynton is that you know he is sincere about what he is saying here. He has done a lot in the effort to help the Americans who were hurt in the Katrina disaster.

I have been listening to Jazz since 1772. My dad heard me listening to some R&B and had me listen to some Coltrane and Miles Davis.

Been in love with that genre ever since.
