Marine Corps celebrates 232nd birthday with Joint Daytime Ceremony

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – The public is invited to come and join the Marines at Camp Lejeune to commemorate their 232nd birthday at the Joint Daytime Ceremony Thursday 9:30 a.m. at Liversedge Field.

The ceremony, which will rededicate the National and Marine Corps Colors, will involve Marines from II Marine Expedition Force, all of its subordinate commands and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.

The birthday pageant will include the traditional cake-cutting ceremony and a procession of the Marine Corps uniforms dating from 1775 to the present.

All generals, commanding officers and sergeants major are scheduled to attend the event.
