Burglars in the United &lt;NOBR&gt;States&lt;/NOBR&gt; could once sue homeowners if they were shot, but now a growing number of states have made it legal to shoot to kill when somebody breaks into a house. <br />

Screw the thiefs you break into my residence you pay the price. With a gun, an axe, or a Machette, or cross bow it dont matter you aint walking back out to brag to your buddys how you robbed me of my belongings. And when the sheriff arrives he"ll see you swingin from my oak tree and i will tell him i just wanted to make sure the punk was good and dead, cause he aint robbin no more..

damn straight you set foot IN my HOME, without my permission and for illegal purposes, you have just lost your right to life. I have no problems with that at all. why would ANYONE have a problem with that? except of course, the ones entering into the domicile illegally

Thank God that my state (Lousyana) is among those that gives its citizens the right to defend themselves against burglars without fear of prosecution.

Colorado has the good sense to have a "make my day" law allowing me to end the life of someone who chooses to enter my home without permission. Anyone who does so in my home will find extra holes in them that are approximately .357 in diameter...

A sign I saw on a fence in the Ozarks: "Anyone found here at night will be found here in the morning".

A bumper sticker on a pickup truck: "Forget 911, I Dial 357".

If you cross the line and break into a home, you deserve what you get. Sorry, but I don't think criminals should have more rights than regular law abiding citizens. I guess this is why I didn't last in prelaw.

I'm a 1911-A1 fan as well. I shot comp with them, was a Markmanship instructor and a range officer. For defense, bigger is better as we all know but "fast" (the .357) works well too.
The .357 vs .40 SW , ya got to be kidding! The .40 is for girls. ;)

GREENSIDEOUT The .460 round is a longer, more powerful version of the popular .454 Casull, itself a longer and more powerful version of the .45 Colt. Consequently, weapons that fire .460 are usually capable of firing the less powerful .454 Casull and .45 Colt rounds, but this must be verified with each weapon's manufacturer. The reverse, however, does not apply: .45 Colt and .454 Casull handguns cannot accept .460 rounds. If attempted, explosion and life-threatening injury may occur. The length of the .460 also makes it difficult if not impossible to chamber into smaller handguns.

SEMPER FI,

I'm behind the curve on the new rounds that have come about. Interesting about the .460 cal. It sounds like a .45 Colt long that got longer and longer.
I had a .357 max in a TC, kind of the same thing.

Every state should have these laws. One of the reasons crime is so rampant in America is because they know just how hard it is for a prosecutor to throw them in jail.

Oklahoma has had the law for some time.

Oklahoma has had the law for some time.Don't confuse "Shoot First" (aka "Stand Your Ground") laws with the "Shoot the Burglar" laws that began to appear in the late 70's - early 80's, which generally dealt only with the burglary of your home. The "Shoot First" law, which is a new development (within the past 10 years or so), extends the "Shoot the Burglar" law to include a person's business and motor vehicle.

Benjamin Franklin once said that "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb, My fellow lambs".
