Members of the Chilean Marine Corps are scheduled to arrive at Camp
Lejeune this weekend for nearly two weeks of training with American troops.

The 6th Marine Regiment will host members of the Chilean Infteria de
Marina today to Aug. 3.

The Chilean Marine Corps Provisional Platoon, comprised of 50 service
members, will train with Marines from 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, and 2nd
Battalion, 8th Marines, in order to enhance military skills and strengthen
ties between U.S. and Chilean Marine Corps.

Training highlights will include Military Operations in Urban Terrain
techniques, martial arts, operation of the M-198 155mm Howitzer and
employment of heavy machine guns.

The Chilean Marines will also have the opportunity to enjoy some coastal
scenery with a scheduled trip to visit Fort Fisher, the USS North Carolina,
and downtown Wilmington.

The bilateral training will conclude Aug. 2.

A closing ceremony is scheduled at 6th Marines mess hall.
