BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- Cpl. Travis Eichelberger still aches from the broken pelvis and internal damage he suffered when a tank rolled over him two weeks ago in Iraq.
But the Marine from Atchison, Kan., struggled through the pain to sit at attention in his hospital bed Monday as a four-star general presented him with a Purple Heart, his father, Martin Eichelberger, said.
"Don't worry about that, corporal," Gen. William Nyland told Travis Eichelberger during the presentation at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda. "You're fine."
