Camp Lejeune provides key training to deploying Marines
Thursday, Oct 18, 2007 - 02:49 PM Updated: 04:03 PM
By Press Release
CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – To prevent injury to Marines operating in Humvees, Camp Lejeune received a Humvee Egress Assistance Trainer. HEAT training familiarizes Marines with how to successfully escape an overturned Humvee or a Humvee that has rolled over, by simulating the action and seeing how the Marines instinctually respond, then teach them how to exit the vehicle properly.
Camp Lejeune is sending a group of Marines through the training, Oct. 19, 2007 at 10 a.m., who will then go back to their respective units and train their Marines how to survive a Humvee roll-over or flip-over.
During the training media in attendance will have the opportunity to observe and video-tape the training and talk to the operators and the Marines going through the simulator.
