Michael Brown's family believes it's the United States military's job to protect America and it citizens from harm.

The family's pride in a fallen hero is more than strong, it's physical and tangible.

His family says if you knew him, he was a man of love and strength.

And from their tribute T-shirts to a living room shrine with his last uniform and purple heart, Bob Brown and his family say Lance Corporal Michael Brown was so much more than an eager young marine from Oak Hill, Ohio.

James Brown, Michael's dad, said, "He was the best man ever. Only 21 but he was wise beyond his age."

Viewing the DVD played at his funeral, the family explained how this high school sports star with a football future decided early-on his dream was the marines. How after just five months in Iraq, Michael suffered severe head trauma in a roadside bomb blast. How he rushed to his cousin and best friend Mary's side just before she died from an asthma attack, then how Michel passed away in his sleep eight hours later.

At the cemetery, buried next to Mary, Michael Brown's resting place is much more than a gravesite.

Bob Brown, a brother, said, "We have the American flag. And this, because he was our hero."

His family decided Michael's tombstone, imported from India, one of just two like it in the world, needed to be lifesize, as in a living memory.

A beloved son, brother, fiancee and friend, who the entire family kisses and hugs goodbye every visit.
