I will be graduating from the University Of Central Florida in a year, and want to join the United States Marine Corp as an Officer. Im in good shape, have a 3.3 G.P.A, and im heavily involved with my school and community. The problem I have is the SAT minimum requirement. I took the test 5 years ago in high school obviously, and received a 970. This was good enough to get into my university because of the fact of my high G.P.A in high school and extracurricular activities I was involved with, so I never took it again. anyway, enough rambling, is this something set in stone and no way around?

What SAT requirement are you talking about?
I would hardly think that applies to anyone who is already about to graduate from college.

Sounds like you better go take the ASVAB and get a EL composite of at least 115 (preferably a 120).
rvillac, from the information I have there isn't a specific test for potential Marine officers. They must score a 1000 on the SAT, a combined math and verbal 45 on the ACT or have an ASVAB EL score of 120 that is waiverable to 115.

After fully preparing for the test, can I take it anytime, or are there special dates?

Knight, go talk to the OSO (Officer Selection Officer) for your area. They can more readily help you with questions such as these.

That should get you started in the right direction. That being said, you can take the test anytime it is offered. You can check with any local education assistence office or contact a high school nearby. The OSO should also be able to help you schedule and take the exam.
