When I was going to postal school at Fort Benjamin Harrison, it was a custom for a person from each branch of the four services to march us to and from class. One Friday when we were getting ready to march back to our barracks, we Marines decided to have some fun.
The person who was marching us was Navy, and had marched us before. He would always call cadence by singing: Ya one and ya two..... ah three ah four. Yah one, yah two, yah one two three four. Well myself and the other Marines decided his cadences needed a creative flair.
So when this petty officer started marching us it went like this.
Yah one and yah two ( siren scream)
Ah three ah four ( trumpet sound)
Yah one ( Meeeeeoooowwww)
Yah two ( Woof)
Yah one two ( flatulent sound)
Yah three four (ahhhoooogahhhhhh)
Yah one and yah two (cymbals sound)
Yah three ah four ( mahhhhhhh-billy goat)
Yah one (bahhhh-sheep)
This lasted until we got back to the barracks which was about 3 minutes. By the time we got back we were all in tears from laughing so hard.
Any time after that, this poor petty officer would always give us a dirty look before we started marching.
