3rd MarDiv NBC Plt 7/89-7/90. I lived in the barracks right across from the chow hall, next to the WM barracks (that wasn't horrible). Mama-san's mexican place across from the main gate was always good too. I spent most of libo in Kinville though.

I lived in the barracks next to the skeet range/beach, I sure wish I could find the guys/gals I hung out with.

I have kept in touch with a couple Marines I was stationed with in Oki, I recently got in touch with a few more on the website www.********************* and I am sure we must have been at the E-Club at the same time once or twice. I remember they opened the E-Club at like 0300 for SuperBowl and then gave us libo until 1300. My other favorite thing about the Cortney E was the six pack of San Miguel beer for $1.50. Ahhhh the good times.

I was TAD to the Command Center during Desert Shield/Desert Storm Nov. 90-July 91. I was actually stationed at Camp Hanson with Radio Platoon, 7th Comm Bn.

I was at Camp Schwab from 86 to early 88 with 3rd Recon but we still spent alot of time at Kinvil!!! I still went back up there when I was PCS'd to Camp Foster with "I" Btry 3/12 down south!! I came back to the world in late 89 just over 38 months in the far east and a total of 14 months on island! My entire first enlistment. Those were the good ol' days!!

I was on camp guard at Courtney 87/88. That taco place was great and and from the gate you could just wave and someone would trott across the road and take your order. There were still slot machines in the staff club when I was there and the mamasans went there every night to spend their hard earned pay. Way to much brass there for my taste. I'm trying to remember is there were slots in the e-club and it just isn't coming to me but probably.
