Hate to be a party pooper, but those guys aren't French. They're Brits, probably Royal Marines. You can tell by their helmets, camo pattern, and most distinctly, their rifles.

Since March (Iraqi hostages) it has been hard to tell the British Marines from the French:D

That was the British Army training. They were testing out why they can't do amphibious landings like the Royal marines.

That's one of the things they taught us, eh? Invaluable life skill that has saved me much grief.
