UZ Contract

I was talking with my recruiter and mentioned that I might eventually be intersted in Recon (yes, I know, everyone who goes infantry wants to either be Recon or SS). He mentioned the UZ contract, which he said would give me a chance at taking the Recon indoc once I got to SOI. My question is, if I wash out and don't make it through, will I go back to being infantry or can I be assigned to do anything?

You will be an 03xx with an opportunity to take the indoc. So, if you don't pass the indoc, you will stay an 03xx but not 0321.
