Small World: Pinckneyville Marine Meets Bush in Iraq

A Pinckneyville man recently met President George W. Bush when the president made a surprise visit to his base in Iraq. Cpl. Bradley Craig Owings is stationed at Camp Al Asad Air Base in Iraq's Anbar province. His is one of a small number of squadrons that have deployed three years in a row beginning in 2005. This squadron is scheduled to go back at the end of 2008. Owings joined the Marines in 2002 and will finish his enlistment this November. Bradley will be returning to the states sometime this month, and will be back in Pinckneyville the first of November. The photo was e-mailed by Owings to his family and was taken on Labor Day of this year. In the picture, Owings is third from the left in the front row.
