my son wanted to serve his country - so what does a consumer do? they shop and so did we as a family. Mom & Dad liked tradition and direction USMC presented at every session, son liked US Army because they promised him everything. so he enlists in Army goes to MEPS and fails hearing - high freq loss. we have applied for waiver & to congressman but are not holding out much hope. He is not deaf - this is a HS grad, made 4 of 6 colleges applied to, is a EMT (vollie & Paid) with a heroic save under his belt, probationary FF and works too!!!
USMC recruiters are telling us that waiver via BUMED is easier & they have his MOS - FF open now.
Question - how real is probability that BUMED will waive hearing
