View Full Version : What motivates you?
I've found it tough since being cleared by the doctors to start running again to get my 4th point back to running. What motivates you guys? I leave for boot in 12 days:banana:

listening to cadences while running always keeps me moto during my runs...and if you have any friends or Marines that wouldnt mind running with you thats also good because it causes healthy competition. Good luck!

Put your head phones on with your favorite music and go. Pretty soon you will be trying to run to the beat of the music.

very true
I find that an a faster paced song will make me run faster. I have a set of songs that I like to run to. I like to listen to hard rock or Metal when I run, simply because it gets my blood pumping and adrenaline flowing.
i listen to trance and house music when i run, no lie. hey if it gets you pumped to dance and has 120+bpm just match the beat with your steps.
my thing is getting my butt into the gym. i did it today though and the gym I use is on Ft. Drum so I have these guys looking at me in my Marine shirt when I'm running...I decided to stop giving The Corps a bad name and will only wear blank white shirts lol
I know this is going to sound all sentimental (I'm a girl though, it's allowed) but I've got a small collection of radio shows from during WWII and listening to those while I'm working out tends to remind me of my goal.
On a tougher note: AC/DC.

Me too. I wore it on Ft. Bragg at the track one time. I promised I would wear it only once I was satisfied with my running.

It could have a ton of them I'm sure. But the fact they're there is what motivates me. As long as there are people like them the Marine Corps will stay in business.

I listen to cadences while I run. It gets my mind on the words then running so I don't think about slowing down or anything.
It's funny, but once it really gets hard to keep on going, I think about bullets and missiles flying at me LOL. Run for life, that works. haha.

Even if you don't motivate yourself between now and the time you leave - a DI up in your a$$ will be PLENTY motivation - trust me.
