Hi to all, I first want to say that Im excited to be leaving for the MCRD PI on the 23rd, and I know that I should take things one step at a time but is SERE hard to get the chance to go to? I was wondering because that is one of the things I would like to do while Im in.

What is your MOS? and why the heck would you want to go there?

You go if your MOS requires you to go. Other than that, chances are you won't be headed there. And if you can avoid it, that is a GOOD thing.

You won't be going.
If you stick around and end up going over to recon, then you'd have a good chance of going. Or change your MOS to aircrew.....
The one in Brunswick, ME is a good school and bearable. We did send some Marines to the Special Forces SERE school at Bragg....now that one is a bear.

Yeah, BTDT too. It's good training but sure and the hell wouldn't ever want to go through it again.
