My lisence has recently been suspended (sep. 3) and will be reinstated dec.3 2007. I wasnt driving drunk or drag racing or any thing, just speeding a little, i was driving with my dad on I-91 going 84 in a 65 mind you the traffic around me was going about 75 so i wasnt going to to fast. But anyway i appealed like everyone does, and i lost (like most others do). I t is so rediciouls that just because im under 18 i lose my lisence for ONE speeding ticket. My question is will this hurt me as far as enlisting? I know you need a vallid lisence before you enlist so i have to wait until i get it back. but any thing other than that?

84 in a 65 is 19 over the limit. Not "just speeding a little."

And the law that says one moving violation and lose your license is just the way it is. Statistics show that young, new drivers kill themselves doing stupid driving stunts in a large percentage. My experience as a police officer and paramedic confirms those statistics.

If you think that law is petty, wait until a drill instructor gets into you. In the Marine Corps, violating a regulation is violating a regulation. Period. End of story. Welcome to the real world.

Regarding the harm it does you as far as enlisting: As long as you reveal it when asked it shoudn't be a problem. Ask a recruiter for the absolute information.

Drivers license required for boot?????? What fore? to drive a crapper? Not like you're taken your bunk down a 3 lane hwy.

I remember a few single guys who had saved a handfull of paychecks, bought cars and left them unattended at Pendleton while on float. Yep they came back to jacked vehicles.

I had a drivers license, many didn't, and still never came closer than 3rd in line for the CO's skate Jeep driving job. On 2 days Liberty in Hawaii a drivers license allowed me to rent a motorcycle instead of a moped/bicycle, period.http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif
