Thanks to Charlotte Smith of Hilton Head Plantation for sharing feedback from a Marine in Iraq who received a local care package.

The Hilton Head Council of the United States Navy League regularly prepares and ships care packages to U.S. Marines in outpost camps in Iraq. Recent packages sent to Dulab, Iraq, resulted in the following letter of thanks:

"Good day,

'I want to thank all the people for their hard work in supporting all operations in Iraq to make the world a safer place to live.

'We are working on a remote site in Iraq doing unexploded ordnance clearance with the Corps of Engineers. The more of these sites we can clean and make safe, the less there is for the insurgents to use for IEDs.

'As one of the medics on site, our work is to keep our workforce working and keep them as healthy as possible - dealing with day-to-day illnesses and offering an ear when someone needs to talk about problems.

'So from this small site in Iraq, we want to thank each and every person back home who sacrifices their time to support the people in the field. It doesn't go unnoticed.

'Thanks."

Charlotte Smith, Sheila Baker and Galen Smith prepare the packages.

Charlotte said they wish to thank all those whose contributions have made it possible to send these care packages to the Marines. Each package sent contains the names of those who made contributions.
