Nominations are being accepted for the 2007 Grateful Nation Award Competition of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.

The competition, which is endorsed by the Army, recognizes one member each of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Special Operations Command for superior performance and service in the war on terrorism.

Winning service members will receive their award at JINSA’s annual Henry M. Jackson award dinner in Washington Oct. 15.

Enlisted Regular Army, National Guard and Army Reserve nominees can be any rank up to master sergeant; officers can be any rank up to major.

Nomination packets should include a one-page typed narrative outlining the soldier’s accomplishments in support of the war on terrorism.

The packet also should include a biography of one or two pages that includes information on the nominee’s family, military history, military and civilian education, and awards and decorations.

Nominations must be endorsed by the soldier’s commander and submitted by Sept. 24 to the Army’s Military Awards Branch: CG, Human Resources Command, Attn: AHRC-PDO-PA, 200 Stovall St., Alexandria, VA 22332-0471.
