Month of commissary sales kicks off

Attention bargain shoppers: September’s commissary case lot sales are beginning.
The sales offer special deals, often in bulk quantities, on items ranging from canned goods to paper products, with items varying by location. Check www.commissaries.com for a list of all the commissaries that are holding sales, and their dates. You can link to your store’s Web site and check the hours.
Stores’ sales are scheduled for different weekends, but they’re already starting. For example, Norfolk Naval Station’s sale is this weekend, Aug. 31 through Sept. 2; while Altus Air Force Base is Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
Be sure to check with your local commissary before you go to make sure the sale is still scheduled; sometimes bad weather or other events beyond their control cause cancellations, officials say.
