Couple Weds 3 Decades After Engagement

PRINCE GEORGE'S, Md. -- It was a wedding 34 years in the making.
Ron and Carol Dimarzo were high school sweethearts in Prince George's County back in the early 1970s.
They became engaged, but Carol's parents were so unhappy about it they moved her out of the state.
Distraught, Ron then joined the Marines and went off to Vietnam.
"I cried," Carol said.
Both Ron and Carol ended up marrying other people, but both marriages ended in divorce after about 20 years.
In January, during his divorce, Ron went in search of Carol on the Web site Classmates.com.
He quickly found her name and e-mail address and wrote her.
"It was just a sweet note about how he thought me, about how he missed me," Carol said.
The couple decided to meet again. They had lunch, and quickly realized that they were still in love.
More than three decades after their first engagement, they married in front of the Queen Anne's County Courthouse on Friday afternoon.
"We have the rest of our lives together, that's so important," Ron said.
Carol has two children from her previous marriage and Ron has one. They are honeymooning in Ocean City this weekend.
